Noord Nederlandse Dans is the north of the Netherlands’ key contemporary dance company. Under Stephen Shropshire’s leadership, the company is building an engaging repertoire of both intellectually and emotionally challenging works. The Company
Noord Nederlandse Dans was established in 1997. Today the company consists of 14 dancers - each of a different nationality. The multi-faceted repertoire is toured by these world class dancers and performed to full theatres on the national and international circuits

StudioGroup
The StudioGroup was created in 2009 and consists of 5 talented young dancers in their last year of professional dance training. Under expert guidance, the StudioGroup dancers follow a unique pathway which stimulates the development of their technical prowess and artistic experience. This all takes place within the context of Noord Nederlandse Dans building a bridge between schooling and the professional dance world.

Experience, Research and Experimentation
Noord Nederlandse Dans offers two annual productions which can be admired on diverse (national and international) podia. In addition, the company focuses much attention on the development of talent, education work and internationalization. Experience, research, experimentation, international development and exchange/collaboration in and of contemporary dance walk hand in hand at Noord Nederlandse Dans.
